About Pamela Roller
She has been a worldwide traveler, and a lifelong learner. This is her second book published through AuthorHouse. She is one of eight children, an aunt to twenty-three nieces and nephews, a great-aunt to thirty great nieces and nephews and a great-great aunt to four nieces and nephews.
In 2018 she retired from teaching elementary school after forty-fours years in the classroom. Hundreds of students spanning over four decades will forever remain in her heart. In 2003 she was selected and honored as one of the top three teachers in the category of Primary Elementary Education in the United States for the Disney American Teacher Awards.
Five months after retiring, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and it has been a life changing experience. It is a job you must learn to manage in order to survive. There are no breaks or vacations from the disease. It literally consumes your life twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred sixty-five days a year.
Because Diabetes is on the rise worldwide, sharing her story will make people more aware of the importance to watch for the symptoms of Diabetes in themselves and in their loved ones. They shouldn’t avoid the warning signs, but make it a priority to go get screened and treated right away.
She has her own fur-ever friend, a ShihTzu puppy named Patches. It has been on this journey with her as an Emotional Support Animal. The joy Patches brings to her life helps greatly in dealing with this difficult disease.
